Lansing pulled an all-nighter the first week of July to get a budget done.

Lawmakers were still voting as the sun came up on July 3. Divided government makes for hard nights and harder compromises, and this budget has plenty of both. But underneath the all-night session and the debate over its size, there are real wins in this budget, and one glaring place where Michigan still needs to finish the job.
